Preventative services are healthcare services, such as flu shots and mammograms, are meant to prevent illness and detect disease at early stages.[1]

Treatments are more likely to work and more cost-effective at early stages, and as such many preventive services such as screenings, vaccines, and counseling are free under Medicare Part B (medical insurance) in a primary care setting.

The following are a list of preventive and screening services covered under Part B as found on Medicare.Gov (most, but not all, of these are covered with no cost-sharing). You can click on any service to find out if it is free and to see other stipulations like how often a service can be accessed.
