Original Medicare includes Medicare Part A (hospital insurance) and Part B (medical insurance). Medicare Advantage, also known as Part C, is a part of Medicare sold by private companies that offers different premiums, cost-sharing options, and benefit options than Original Medicare. Also notable is that many Advantage plans come bundled with drug plans, while most prescription drugs aren’t covered under Original Medicare.
